UGANDAN runners secured a maiden 1-2-3-4 finish at the World Mountain Running Championship in Poland on Sunday.
Philip Kiplimo anchored his colleagues to the emphatic win ahead of Italy and Turkey.
Kiplimo, who was running his first race on the global stage, clocked 54:22 minutes finishing ahead of Geoffrey Kusuro.
Kusuro, timed at 55:06, won an individual gold medal at last year’s event. Nathan Ayieko came third in 55:19 while Peter Kibet followed at 55:27.
Uganda Athletics Federation secretary Beatrice Ayikoru praised the athletes for their success.
“This is a fantastic performance,” Ayikoru stated.
