AS part of efforts to reduce infant and maternal mortality rate in the country, the Rotary Club of Kenthurst, Australia through the Gaba rotary club District 9200, has donated medical equipment worth $15000 US dollars to the 13 health centers around the country.
During the event at Green Valley hotel in Gaba, the President of Rotary Club of Gaba, Sarah Lubega who emphasized the importance of proper child care delivery in the country observed that maternal care and safe child birth are the key focus of the club for this Rotary year.
“Rotary as a humanitarian organisation places a great premium on human life, hence the efforts in saving lives,” she added.
Lubega said the items will be distributed to Buikwe Health Center III, John Paul II Children’s HIV/AIDS Clinic, Health Initiative for Africa (Adults) Buikwe district, St. Charles Lwanga Buikwe Hospital, Kiwoko hospital, Nakaseke hospital, Mityana hospital, Mulago hospital (Uro-gynaecology Theatre), Kitovu hospital (Fistula Surgical Services Program), Kiruddu Health Center III, Itojo hospital, Rubare Health Center IV and Rwashamaire Health Center IV in Ntungamo district.
