President Paul Kagame of Rwanda is in Uganda to attend a meeting of regional heads of states geared at resolving violence in the DR Congo.
The heads of states and government of the International Conference on the Great Lakes region will, on 5th September 2013, hold the 7th Extraordinary Summit on security situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in Kampala, Uganda.
The Summit will be preceded by parallel meetings on 4th September, 2013, of regional Ministers of Defence and Regional Inter-Ministerial Committee comprising of Ministers of Foreign Affairs from member states. All meetings will take place at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort, Kampala, Uganda.
Member states of the International Conference on Great Lakes Region include; Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia.
