More than 500 patients from Kitengeesa, Kamwozi, Buwunga, Lwannunda and other nearby villages, Kitengeesa parish, Buwunga sub-county, Masaka District have received free treatment in various diseases from an Irish NGO.
The Irish NGO known as the Children’s Education and Development Fund (CEDF) was led by Aisling Glass, Sylvia Gavigan, Karen O’Reilly, Colman O’Cathail and Sean Gavigan.
They treated diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria, diarrhea, typhoid and among others.
Aisling Glass, the team leader, said that treatment camp registered an overwhelming result. She said they expected to treat about 1000 patients but only 580 turned up.
Sylvia Gavigan, one of the members of the NGO said that the (CEDF) also intends to renovate the existing schools in the area and teaching members of the community how develop their health.
