The Police have arrested a couple found with 30 children who had been missing, from different parts of the country.

The children, aged between five and 23 years, reportedly went missing late last year.

The suspects who have been identified as Issa Ssekalu and Ziyada Nalubowa (his wife), have been posing as teachers of Islam at Hudah Tahafizu, a home in Kasokoso village, Kireka in Wakiso district.

According to Police, the couple has been using their four-roomed house as both a school and a home.

Police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba said the children will be taken to Naguru Reception Centre, pending police investigations.

The children were recovered following a tip off from the residents in the area about the little children who only study Islam and after some time they allegedly vanish.

“Investigations have started as we wait for advice on what charges to be brought against them,” Nabakooba said.

The suspects were still being held at Police Special Investiagtion Unit in Kireka. Musa Yisule, 23, said his Imam identified as Ahmed Nijad Yaya handed him over to Ssekalu three weeks ago.
