Edward Kiiza “Wasi Wasi” Amooti is your typical rags -to -riches story. A Primary Five drop-out, the young Kiiza started out trading in jackfruit while still in school with sh100 earned from a neighbour after he tilled her land in the 1970s. He went on to do a myriad of menial jobs from peddling boiled chicken, selling local brew and sh to trading in cattle on foot for kilometres; before the age of 22.

Today, Kiiza, 51, is a billionaire who has invested in everything he considers pro table; from real estate, hospitality, media
(radio and television), manufacturing and education. Described by Tophace Kaahwa Byagira, the Woman MP of Hoima district, as “the Mulwana of Hoima”, Kiiza is one of the richest men in Bunyoro.
