Uganda Tennis Open

Friday, Kampala Club

JEAN Claude Gasigwa, formerly the tormenter in chief for local tennis players, is among the foreign entrants expected at the Uganda Open that gets underway on Friday.

Gasigwa has had a near perfect expedition in Uganda which was only broken by Duncan Mugabe and current Uganda Open champion David Oringa who beat the Rwandan star in previous tournaments.

The competition will take place at Kampala Club in the heart of the Ugandan capital.

According to tournament manager Shakib Nsubuga, the event is open to all players.

“Anyone from any country is free to enter and even last year the women singles winner was Renée Killaars from Netherlands,” Nsubuga stated.

Nsubuga revealed that many players had already picked entry forms and more are expected by close of entries on Thursday night.
