Police has constituted a team of detectives attached to the Police Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to track the assailants behind the weekend murder of a British national, a proprietor of 4-Turkeys bar in Entebbe, Wakiso district.

The four man team of top crime busters with a brief to investigate the homicide was constituted by police chief Lt. Gen Kale Kayihura.

Derek Coggon, a former United Nations Peacekeeper served for 40 years, retired and settled in Uganda where he was running a chain of businesses, was on Saturday shot dead.

The team that kicked off its investigations on Saturday afternoon arrested five sex workers from the bar, recording statements from them in connection with the incident, police said.

On the ill-fated night Coggon had reportedly picked a sex worker from his bar and was returning with her home when he was gunned down by unknown thugs outside his Lunya residence.
