One of the police escort vehicles in the Inspector General of Police Maj Gen. Kale Kayihura’s convoy has been involved in a head on collision with a trailer at Kawanda along Kampala-Gulu Road.

The Police chief was bound for Nakasongola district to take part in the celebrations to mark the International Women’s day.

New Vision's reporter at the scene says nobody was hurt in the Friday morning accident which paralyzed traffic for some time.

The crashed navy-blue Uganda Police vehicle was towed off to an unclear destination shortly after the incident.

The main celebrations are to be held in Nakasongola district under the theme: Gender agenda—connecting grass root women to development, and President Yoweri Museveni will be the main guest.
