DUNCAN Mugabe emerged champion of the Best of the Best tournament that ended on Saturday at Lugogo tennis complex.

Mugabe beat David Oringa (7-5, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2) in a match lasting 2 hrs and 37 minutes in the final of the tournament that started on February 24.

“I knew I was going to win but it wouldn’t be an easy game for me,’’ Mugabe stated, adding that his confidence grew with every minute he spent on court.

Mugabe also commended Oringa on reaching the final and reckons that he has a bright future

“Although I have lost to Mugabe this will not stop me from working harder,” Oringa said.

He added that he would train hard to defend the Uganda Open that is coming up soon and promised to ensure that Mugabe is on the losing side next time they clash.
