USPA Body Builder of the Year 2011 Ivan Byekwaso is set to compete at the international stage once again after getting a weekly boost of $100 (sh260,000) for his training and upkeep from Michael Majeed.

The Seafast Logistics businessman, a personal friend to the muscle man, said he will give him all the necessary support for this and more events to come.

“As long as he remains active depending on his needs I will always offer the necessary assistance,” Majeed stated.

The Uganda Body Building and Fitness Association middle weight champion will consequently lead a three man team to the Miami Pro World championship at the Alban Arena in the UK on April 7.

He will represent the country with Bikini champion Bridget Namutebi and muscle model Saad Byaruhanga who have already received invitations to the event.

Byekwaso, who finished second behind Kenya’s Michael Otieno in the annual Musclemania championship in Kampala last year, believes he can also regain that title this year after receiving the offer.

“My biggest problem has been dieting which has now been solved by this offer from Majeed. I’ve gained a lot of weight of late and will need to shed off some kilos for me to be able to compete in the 84kg light heavyweight,” Byekwaso said.

This will be Byekwaso’s second time at the Angela Weston-organised event having competed at the same championship in 2010 where he finished second in the middle weight.

But Byekwaso and his entourage have to look for close to sh4m each for an air ticket and upkeep while in London.
