Saturday

Mandela National Stadium, Namboole

URA v Coton Sport

First leg result

Coton Sport 0 URA 0

SIMEON Masaba’s vast experience could be a key factor in this weekend’s CAF Champions League preliminary round return leg against Cameroon.

Masaba missed out in the away encounter because of what doctor Jack Walugembe described as a knock. “But I must say he is now fully recovered and set for action,” noted Walugembe.

Masaba’s overlaps will be handy as the tax collectors look for goals to progress to the next round.

URA warmed up for Saturday’s encounter with a game against Bweyogerere side Azam yesterday.

But even as Masaba recovered, coach Paul Nkata was still worried. Defender Derrick Walulya and midfielder Oscar Agaba had malaria while Farouk Osama had a bruise.

Coton Sport arrive this morning. The West African giants jet in at 7.05am aboard a Kenya Airways flight for the weekend encounter.

While Coton Sport will be based in Naalya, the hosts have chosen to camp in Jinja starting today.

Tanzanian match officials Charles Mbage (referee) and linesmen Erasmo Jesse and Hamis Changwalu also jet in today together with match commission Hassan Waberi.

A seat in the open stands will go for sh5000 while a place in the VIP stands will be at sh10,000. According to a URA release issued yesterday, children who come with their parents will enter free.

URA faces even more West African opposition should they go past the Cameroon giants.

They will be lined up against the winner between Ivory Coast’s A.F.AD and Diamond Star of Sierra Leone.
