Today

JKT Ruvu Stars v Azam FC

Tanzania Prisons v Simba SC

AZAM striker Brian Umony will miss today’s clash against JKT Ruvu Stars due to an injury he picked during their 3-1 victory against Al Nasri Juba, South Sudan in the CAF African Confederation Cup.

Umony, who on Sunday was replaced with just 14 minutes on the clock, has undergone a scan which has revealed the injury was not as serious as initially feared.

“It’s not serious as I thought, no broken bones, just minor damage of soft tissues. Probably I will be ok in a weeks’ time but I should be fine for the upcoming games” Umony.

Azam FC is second on the league table, three points behind Yanga FC after 16games played. Yanga who top the table with 36 points also have a superior seven goal advantage.

Fellow Cranes attacker Hamis Kizza will also be in action today for Yanga against Tanzania Prisons in their bid to maintain theie lead atop the table.

Azam and Yanga face off in a mouth-watering clash in a fortnight.
