KAMPALA - The Anti-Corruption Court on Tuesday pushed the trial of Geoffrey Kazinda, the interdicted principal accountant  in the Office of the Prime Minister to next month – on the dates of March 4th, 6th and 7th.

The trial before Justice David Wangutusi that was scheduled for hearing was adjourned because Kazinda was not produced at the Anti- Corruption Court.

He was appearing at the Court of Appeal over another matter where he has been challenging his trial.

MacDosman Kabega , Isaac Walukagga  and Tom Magezi – the lawyers representing Kazinda – and  principal state attorney Jane Frances Abodo agreed before the judge to proceed  with the case for three consecutive days.

It is alleged that Kazinda  between November 2011 and May 2012 at UCB zone in Bukoto, being employed  by government  as principal accountant did an arbitrary act, when he forged the signature of Pius Bigirimana, the permanent secretary in the  office of the Prime Minister.

Prosecution says Kazinda did an arbitrary act when he kept in a private residence computer-generated letters and cash withdrawal authorization forms bearing forged signatures of Pius Bigirimana.

But he denied the allegations.
