CAF Champions League

Coton Sport 0  URA FC 0

Tusker 4  St.Michel 1

Asante Kotoko  7  Sony Ela  0

St George  3  Jamhuri  0

UGANDAN footballers, turning out for respective clubs around Africa, registered impressive performances during the CAF Champions League over the previous weekend.

In Kenya, former KCC FC striker Andrew Sekayombya struck his first international goal as Tusker FC thumped Seychelles outfit St. Michel 4-1.

Sekayombya’s former KCC teammate Joseph Ochaya registered similar scoring form in Ghana.

Ochaya scored as Asante Kotoko humiliated Equatorial Guinea representatives Sony Ela Nguema 7-0 in a one-sided game.

In Ethiopia, although Ugandan striker Robert Ssentongo did not score during St George’s 3-0 win over Zanzibar side Jamhuri, he was influential in his club’s first leg result.

The only dissapointing result unfolded in Lubumbashi, where Godfrey Walusimbi’s Don Bosco lost 1-0 at home to South African side SuperSport in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Uganda’s Champions League representatives URA FC returned last evening after their goalless draw away to Cameroonian side Coton Sport.

Elsewhere, Hassan Wasswa is set to return to competitive football with KCCA FC after securing his international transfer certificate from his Turkish club Kayseri.
