Police are investigating circumstances under which the head of security at Casino Simba on Garden City shopping Mall in Kampala died Wednesday morning hours after he reported for work.

Muhammed Kaweesa, believed to be in his early 30s, turned up at his station a normal man, but he was pronounced dead at Mulago hospital later in the day with circumstances leading to his death still a mystery.

Whereas a postmortem report from Mulago shows that Kaweesa died of heart failure, Jinja road division police commander, Wesley Nganizi, yesterday confirmed that there were conflicting reports about Kaweesa's death.

“The postmortem report says he died of heart failure. But we are now investigating what could have caused that. We received information that he was kicked but this has been disputed by the Casino management. Others said someone hugged him before he died. We have not yet treated it as a murder because we want to establish what exactly happened,” he said.

Kaweesa's picture was pinned on the Casino Simba’s notice boards with an announcement that he had died. He was buried on Wednesday at his ancestral home in Luwero. Sarah Sensalire, the Casino Simba finance manager, told New Vision that Kaweesa got a heart attack at around 1:00am while at work on Wednesday.

Sensalire, who denied allegations that Kaweesa was kicked before he died added that immediately he got the attack, he was rushed to hospital from where he was pronounced dead.
