Lwemiyga County Member of Parliament in Ssembabule district has said he believes one day he will become the President of Uganda.

Theodore Ssekikubo made the disclosure during the NRM day celebrations for Ssembabule district held at Lwemiyaga play ground on Thursday.

Ssekikubo who was cheered by his supporters, said he is internationally recognized adding that even the US President knows him.

“The people of Lwemiyaga are blessed to be known and in many advanced countries, even the US President Obama knows about me and Lwemiyaga,” he said.

Ssekikubo earlier appreciated the people of Lwemiyaga for supporting President Museveni.   He said the people of Lwemiyaga made sacrifices for the NRM and President Museveni that they cherish his achievement.

“It was not easy for the people of Lwemiyaga being near the Kabamba military barracks in the past regimes, we lost our people and made sacrifices for the NRM,it is justified for  the district to have NRM anniversary  cerebrations here,” he said.

He said that there are some politicians who want to cause a rift between him and President Museveni.

"Amos Kaguta the father of President Museveni and my Dad, Sam Mwagala were close friends and shared a lot even in the bad times, Museveni would come home for treatment when he was being chased,” he said

Ssekikubo said he was attacked by his critics in the recent NRM party retreat at Kyankwanzi.

“Imagine they were accusing President Museveni of handling me with kid gloves when they file reports about me, issues of President Museveni sponsoring my education and so many others were raised,” he said.

Ssekikubo said he will not stop speaking out about things that are going wrong in the nation. According to him, no-one can chase him from the NRM party and the Parliament.

However he added that he is beginning to get fed up of being pushed to the wall every time he comes out to speak the truth.

“Am tired of being tasked to explain about the things I do for the good of the nation, I will quit the NRM party with my truth and those who believe in me if that is what they want,” he said.

He made it clear that already, his critics had started plotting to oust him from the Lwemiyaga seat but he believes it is not easy to defeat a pro-people leader like him.
