Dembe FM’s Robina Mbabazi aka Bina Baby, is a radio personality to whom romance is a trade She spoke to Carol Kasujja

I heard you can sing. When are you composing your first track?
I cannot sing. Each time I try singing, people make fun of me. I only sing for the Lord during church services. The last time I sang on radio, a fan called in and said I should stick to presenting. I hear I swallowed a lot of frogs when I was young.

You have been around for some good time. Are there plans for you to get married?
To be honest with you, I have left everything to God. When the right person knocks at my door, I will not hesitate. I have dated for so long and I am now tired. Let us see what 2013 has in store. If it does not have any good news, we wait for 2014.

So, are you dating?
I do not know whether I am single or not. If you asked me that question last year, I would be able to tell you, but right now, I am also confused. I have a man in my life, but he is such a flirt that I would not want to tell the public that I am dating. This is the kind of person who keeps on posting flirty posts on girls’ pages. I should say I am just there. And being there is dangerous.

Is he good at giving compliments?
Once in a while that is when you hear him saying that you are smart or have a good scent. You get to know that he liked the dress or the hairstyle you had after a month when he is telling you to dress the way you did then.

Do you ever wish you could go back to being anonymous?
Yeah!  I really wish I would because even you writing about me is annoying. When I am on air, it is okay, but when journalists start writing things about me, it becomes irritating. One day some paper wrote that I was moving out with my brother. I hate it when I go to church and the priest announces my arrival.

You are working, a big woman, why are you still staying at your mother’s home?
There is a boy I was dating who pestered me to leave home. I left home and started renting. Two months later, I found out he had a one-month-old baby. I was hurt, so I decided to pack my things and go back home.  If I stayed in that house alone, I was going to commit suicide.
