It takes me almost an hour during sexual intercourse to ejaculate. What causes delayed ejaculation?

When a man delays to reach his peak of sexual satisfaction and release semen, this is referred to as delayed ejaculation. The condition can be short-term or lifelong.
It is normal for men to experience delayed ejaculation from time to time if it is short-term. It only becomes a problem if it is caused by psychological issues and stresses you and your partner.
Causes of delayed ejaculation may include chronic health conditions such as diabetes mellitus and medications, such as anti-depressants. It can also be caused by drug and alcohol abuse or a mental health condition, such as depression, anxiety or stress. In some cases, delayed ejaculation results from a combination of physical and psychological concerns.
Treatment depends on the underlying cause. One may have to take medication, change lifestyle, seek counselling, or stop alcohol and drug use. See a doctor or counsellor.
