NEW URA FC coach Paul Nkata wants to turn the team into ‘Barcelona’ in a bid to broaden its fan base.

Nkata, who was officially, introduced at the club training ground in Gayaza on Monday, emphasised discipline and hard work as the only key to success.

He disclosed that he would take some of the players through the basics that they might have missed during the early days of their careers to achieve his target of turning URA into an entertaining team.

“My target is to win fans for URA. That can happen because I want the team to play entertaining football like Barcelona. Hope they (URA officials) will give me enough time,” Nkata said.

Despite Nkata’s plans, his immediate task is to prepare the team to take on Coton Sport de Garoua of Cameroon in an away CAF Champions League encounter on February 16.

URA FC snatched the coach from SC Villa and gave him a two-year contract to guide them in the forthcoming continental campaign.

The performance based contract is renewable. Nkata, who is also the head coach of the national U-20 team, is taking up full responsibility of a super league club for the second time.

His first was at Villa Park until last Thursday.

Coton Sport eliminated URA in the Ugandans debut season of the CAF Champions League in 2006/2007.
