SCOTTISH national James Baird and Ireland based Zimbabwean Tongai Dodo are among several applicants for the coaching job at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC.

A well-placed source at the club has confirmed that URA FC officials have received written applications from the two seeking to be offered the job to handle the team.

Although Baird passes the most qualification ranges from UEFA License B, experience as U-20 Scotland tactician, sports officer, Hearts FC and St Miren technical team official among others, Mayeku has insisted that they are searching for a local coach.

“URA FC is a community club and we shall not hire a foreign coach because we would have moved away from our guiding principles in football,” Mayeku said.

The Zimbabwean Tongai currently the head Coach at Celbridge Town AFC in Ireland has handled second division teams in Northern Ireland, junior national teams in Mozambique.

Despite URA’s stand on foreign coaches, the club may have to solicit interests of the local tacticians because they have no Ugandan coach who has showed interest in the job.

But Mayeku has insisted that whatever the decision, they are looking at a coach who will be able to secure quick results at both local and foreign scenes.

URA has been linked with Police FC coach Sam Timbe but the cops have since said the tactician is going nowhere.
