SOUTH Africa based Ugandan Khalid Mouthasany and Mitchel Harrocks have been drafted into the national team that is set for a friendly tour in Dubai. The team that sets for Dubai on Thursday is getting ready for the Pepsi ICC Division III World Cricket League in Bermuda in May.

Uganda will be playing a series of international friendly matches in Dubai before they return home for the Africa T-20 championships due next month in Kampala.

All-rounder Mouthasamy jetted in Friday and has fast fitted in coach Martin Suji’s plans.

The Ugandan, who has been a coach player for Lion B side in South Africa played in Saturday’s training game and showed his bowl¬ing prowess by picking three wickets for 18 runs.

“He is a good addition for the team. We have been monitoring his performance ever since he contacted us that he wanted to be part of the team and he has shown that he is ready,” said a Uganda Cricket Association secretary Jackson Kavuma stated.

“It will be the coach to make the final ruling whether he will be on the team,” added Kavuma

In a related development Tornado’s Mitchel Harrocks has also been summoned after proving himself in the league. Harrocks is born to Uganda parents who were born at Mengo Hospital, making him eligible to play for the Uganda team, according to the ICC regulations.

“I have been looking for this moment. I just hope I impress the coach to give me the chance to represent Uganda,” said Harrocks during the friendly game the team played at Kyambogo Cricket Oval.
