UPDF soldier charged with murder

A UPDF lance corporal accused of murdering three women including his wife has been charged with three counts of murder in public before the Divisional Court martial.

Herbert Rwakihembo, who is attached to Luzira Military barracks in Kampala was on Monday charged before the Divisional Court martial of Bombo army general headquarters sitting at Luzira C.O.U Primary School.

Rwakihembo who was produced in a fully packed hall was charged before Col. Geoffrey Kakama.

According to the charge sheet that was read for him by Kakama, Rwakihembo with malice aforethought unlawfully caused the death of his wife Irene Kawendeke by shooting using an AK 47 sub machine gun.

He allegedly committed the offence at Kisenyi zone III in Luzira, Nakawa Municipality in Kampala on December 10, 2012 at around 7:45Pm.
