WITH the Nile Special Rugby League kickoff hardly two weeks away, Kampala Rugby Club teams are yet to touch a ball having been denied access to their home ground by Legends Management.

Kampala Rugby Club has been renamed Legends.

The sale of Kampala Club in 2011 has now plunged D’Mark Kobs, G4S Pirates and Rhinos in crisis as the new management continues to deny them access to the pitch.

The league which was earlier set to kick off this Saturday was extended by two weeks as Uganda Rugby Union (URU) negotiates with Legends. URU is yet to communicate the outcome of their meetings.

Kobs run out patience:

“We are already looking for an alternative ground for training. Hopefully by Thursday we shall have concluded. I wouldn’t want to mention the place because other affected teams are also looking for a playing ground,” Kobs chairman Nathan Wasolo stated.

The team has been concentrating on fitness body conditioning through jogging and working out in the gym.

Kobs rule out Kyadondo:

Wasolo said that Kobs enjoys a good relationship with Kyadondo management but they have not considered the venue due confidentiality of tactics and the ground is too busy.

Heathens, Buffaloes, KK Stallions, Tigers, Eagles and Thunderbirds all use the same venue living no room to accommodate more teams on the facility.

New grounds at Luzira?

Kampala Club management that sold the club said they had bought land at Luzira where they would relocate but it is yet to be developed. The club officials have since been suspended over the controversial sale.

They also contest the suspension in courts of law.
