PARLIAMENT, Kampala - Kampala Central MP, Mohamed Nsereko has made it clear that he will not support his current party chairman, Yoweri Museveni come 2016.

The outspoken MP made the open revelation after receiving summons to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee.

The NRM chief whip, Justin Lumumba, summoned Nsereko and four others to make appearance for disciplinary action over their errant behaviour.

Nsereko told journalists on Wednesday at Parliament that he had received a letter written by Lumumba, asking him to prepare to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee to be chaired by the party secretary general, Amama Mbabazi.

Nsereko said the reasons advanced for calling him to appear before the disciplinary committee were unrealistic.

“They [NRM] blame me for saying I will not support Museveni in the 2016 presidential elections and that I refused to support the party position of giving authority to grant oil licenses to the energy minister.

“I want to say it again that I will not support Museveni in 2016 because I don’t think he will add anything to our country,” he explained.

He also vowed never to attend any NRM retreat again.

Lumumba said the other legislators she had forwarded to the party’s disciplinary committee for action include Ndorwa East MP Wilfred Niwagaba, Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo, Rwampara MP Vincent Kyamadidi and Buyaga MP Barnabas Tinkasimire.

“I want the party’s disciplinary committee to take action against them because they have been consistently opposing the party’s position on various issues in Parliament and in the media,” Lumumba said.
