The boyfriend of the late Butaleja MP Cerinah Nebanda, Adam Kalungi has been charged with three counts of manslaughter, supplying and dispensing narcotics.

Court in Kampala today remanded Kalungi to Luzira prison.

Kalungi who had been on the run and wanted by the police in connection with the incident was arrested on Thursday in the Kenyan port city of Mombasa before being deported and on Saturday in an interview stated that he and Nebanda had spent a fun filled night on December 13, 2012.

Nebanda, who he claimed consumed cocaine so as to gain Dutch courage to air her views in parliament, on the ill-fated day consumed heroin at his residence in his absence, leading to her death.

A government forensic report linked Nebanda's death to Cocaine and heroin, kicking up controversy, culminating in the arrest of a pathologist and two legislators.

Nebanda, 24, passed away at Mukwaya General Clinic in Nsambya, on December 14 shortly after Kalungi and his friends dropped her at the facility and then vanished.
