A policewoman on Friday shot and killed a man who is said to have attacked her at Kibuli.

According to Police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, Ibin Ssenkumbi, Enid Mbabazi a Police constable attached to Nsambya Police barracks was attacked by an unknown man, which led a struggle before the shooting.

“The officer was going to work in the areas of Kibuli, but realised she had jumped onto a wrong vehicle, she decided to walk to her work place.

"After leaving the barracks, she was attacked by unidentified person. After a struggle she was forced to shoot killing the attacker and a passer-by was injured in the process,” Ssenkumbi said.

He added that the unidentified injured passer-by was rushed to Kibuli hospital for treatment and the officer reported to Police.

Ssenkumbi added that she may be charged with murder pending Police investigations.

According to an eye witness, two shots were fired into the air and another on the ground. Mbabazi was shouting while saying “toka, toka meaning go away. “A Karamojong was later hit by another bullet,” Moses Sempebwa a bodaboda rider said on Friday.
