You have probably seen socialite Zari’s Lamborghini, which has over the last few weeks decked our streets and got everyone craning their neck to check it out.

Well, the sleek machine, an orange monster with personalised number plate “Ivan 10” on Wednesday got Kampala metropolitan traffic commander Lawrence Niwabiine so curious that he pulled Zari over so he could have a good turn of checking it out.

It all started when Zari, who was driving from Ggaba, stubbornly refused to give the traffic boss a right of way. “So I trailed her all the way from Ggaba until I pulled her over at the busy Jinja Road traffic lights,” said Niwabiine.

He was quick to add that he didn’t pull her over just for the sake of it, but rather to check for the car’s documentation.

“You see, such sleek vehicles usually come to Kampala during the festive season without proper documentation, meaning they dodge paying taxes. So I pulled her over, but all its documentation is proper, plus she has documents that show she is the wife of its owner Ivan Semwanga, the one after whom the number plate takes,” explained Niwabiine after Zari had roared off to her jewellery shop at Garden City, where we later saw them having a good laugh about Niwabiine’s ‘star-struckness’.
