During the festive season, there was a steady influx of tourists and Ugandans in the diaspora looking to spend some time home. Well, the holiday season is over and several of these visitors will be leaving the country.

Business trips are also bound to be plenty as the New Year kicks off. The good news is that most airlines are likely to cut their air fares.

Emirates, one of the major players in the air business in Uganda, recently announced special fares that apply to more than 120 destinations across their network when booked between December, 26, 2012 and January 10, 2013.
 “Whether your New Year’s resolution is to spend more time with family and friends or visit a dream destination, Emirates’ Economy Class deals currently available for early bookers, offer something for everyone. We urge our customers in Uganda to move quickly to secure seats at the best price,” said Emirates’ Country Manager for Uganda, Khalid Al Zarouni as he announced these New Year offers.

Passengers from Uganda will be able to fly Economy class to Dubai and Middle Eastern destinations starting at $480.

Business men who intend to visit China can get there for an average of around $650 to 980 depending on the specific destination while visiting Europe will cost as low as US$680. It is most likely that other players in the market will follow suit as January eases into a low season.
