The Police have called upon the public to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of Andrew Kananura aka Desh.

Kananura is wanted over the murder of a barman, Abdu Kategregga, who worked at his Panamera bar and Restaurant in Naguru.

Kampala metropolitan Police spokesperson Ibin Sekumbi said investigations so far pinpoint Kananura as the main suspect and that his file is already with the Resident State Attorney for advice.

Kananura is accused of beating Kateregga to death over a tip.

On the fateful day on September 30, Kateregga was accused of theft when he was found with sh30,000 by his boss.

Witnesses who included employees at the bar claimed that it was Kananura’s policy that no one on duty was supposed to have money on them.

That morning, Kateregga was punched and beaten till he collapsed and died at the bar. The Police later arrived and searched the premises, but it is not known whether a statement was taken from Kananura.

When news of the shocking incident spread in public, Kananura reportedly went on the run and to date his whereabouts are not known.

The Police have reiterated the long arm of the law will catch up with him and that he is not immune as sections of the public have insinuated.

There have been numerous reports in the media of Kananura using friends in high places to evade arrest.
