Traffic along Kampala-Jinja Highway Friday morning came to a standstill for four hours following a night accident which claimed five lives at Mabira forest, in Buikwe district.


Seven people were rushed to Mulago Hospital in critical condition after sustaining severe injuries.

The tragedy occurred after a Kampala-bound trailer( UAQ 955E) driver lost control and collided with a Kamuli-bound commuter taxi which had been hired by some Indians to and from Entebbe Airport.

The deceased include the taxi driver Alex Buyengo, his son Gravity Lwali whom he had taken on a tour of the airport and the conductor only identified as Jeffrey.

The dead Indians are yet to be identified.
