Museveni says ritual murders have become a security threat.

President Yoweri Museveni has called on the Police to tighten investigations into reports of alleged ritual murders and collection of the victims' blood for use in rituals, which he said has become a security threat.

The President made the call during a meeting with selected ex-combatants from Kabwogwe Sub County in Nakaseke district at State House, Nakasero over the weekend.

They were led by the Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly, Margaret Zziwa.

"If they really kill people, we shall get them because this is the work of the Police," Museveni said, according to a statement from House statement.

The President's reaction followed a report by the members of the ex-combatants that several residents especially in areas of central Uganda have been killed and blood allegedly sucked out.

They said that killings had been reported in Wakiso and Mityana districts.

The group raised their fears that this may be a new group trying to cause insecurity and called for immediate government intervention.
