A second year student of Makerere University Business School, Mbarara study center, is believed to have committed suicide after squandering his tuition fees.

The body of Joshua Nuwasasira, 22, from Kanoni, in Kiruhura district was found hanging this morning in his rented room in Nkokonjeru, a suburb in Mbarara.

The second year Business Administration student, according to his roommate Ezra Begumanya, said Nuwasasira had tried to commit suicide twice in a period of one week but was on both occasions stopped by his neighbours.

Begumanya said that the deceased had spent all his tuition fees partying until his parents got suspicious of his suddenly changed lifestyle.

By the time of filing this story, the Police had taken the deceased’s body to Mbarara regional referral hospital for postmortem.
