Hellen Lukoma shivered in excitement at the sight of the diamond ring. Fiancé Dean Nsubuga’s voice trembled in an emotional marriage proposal session that turned the love birds into a melodramatic movie couple.

Moles marvelled as Nsubuga knelt and proposed to Lukoma last Wednesday night during Lukoma’s surprise birthday party at Club Silk’s Ocean wing. Lukoma shook incessantly as if she was surprised.

Quivering like someone on the verge of an epileptic fit, she hissed ‘yesssss’ to Nsubuga in dramatic fashion.

Like one who had rehearsed all week, Nsubuga went on bended knee and placed the diamond-crusted ringher on her finger.

If it is true that the party cost about sh6m, as the moles overheard friends talk, we expect a wedding fanfare.

Moles, however, overheard Lukoma’s parents grumble that such money would have been better spent on acquiring a piece of land in one of Jomayi’s estates.
