Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohammad Monday afternoon arrived in the country for Uganda's Golden Jubilee Independence celebrations slated for Tuesday.

He was received by the Vice President Edward Sekandi at Entebbe International airport.

He joins South Sudan president Salva Kiir, president Joseph Kabila of Congo and Pierre Nkurunziza of Burundi who arrived on Sunday.

The jubilee celebrations will take place at the refurbished Kololo ceremonial grounds in Kampala.

15 presidents have confirmed their attendance for the celebrations. The Duke of Kent, who is representing the Queen of England, arrived in the country last week.
