Okori Juliana of Kori House of Couture Designs presented amazing designs in the Timeless Future fashion show last Saturday at Sea Scallop Restaurant in Kamwokya.

The show which started off at 9.30 pm was attended by a sparse youthful crowd which included the reigning Miss Uganda Phiona Bizzu and her predecessor Sylvia Namutebi.

Okori showcased five collections in total while a live painter Jovan Kiganda, who is part of the Parallax Project, captured the evening as it unfolded. The color palette was all over the place as she incorporated bold prints and color in her Sunny Rainbow collection but stuck to a neutral black with little African fabric accents in the Black Code collection which really stood out.

The Office Curvy collection was a mix of conservative pieces and some rather flamboyant ones like the pink suit that opened the collection, with a flared jacket and skinny capri pants.

The After 5 collection was elegant and extravagant, with a beautiful plum gown, a silver one arm mini dress and an animal print playsuit as part of the collection.

Last was the African Modern collection, designs made from African fabrics but with a very current outlook. Some of the cuts were rather masculine with wide shoulders but staying feminine with cinched in waistlines and pencil-skirt bottoms.

The models from Joram Model Management looked quite professional as they strutted the stoned runway but perhaps the dampener on the evening was the poor lighting and the MCs, who were rather annoying.

The painting by Kiganda sold for sh750, 000 which went to the Sickle Cell Foundation.
