Top volleyball teams have another chance to gauge their readiness for the eagerly awaited playoffs at the Uganda Christian University (UCU) Open.

The two-day UCU show in Mukono will start today.

Nemostars coach Anthony Ndawula hopes the Open will give his charges the opportunity to iron out any loose ends ahead of the playoff.

The playoffs series are tentatively scheduled to start on October 27 in Kampala.

For Ndawula, the UCU Open will also be used to test his players against Nkumba, the only team to have beaten them so far this season. Other teams in the UCU Open and the playoffs are Sport-S and KAVC.

“We always consider every match against any team serious. I hope complacency will not cost us because we have beaten almost everyone so far,” Ndawula said.

There will also be action in the women's category in the Mukono tournament.
