Former Principal Accountant with the Office of the Prime Minister, Godfrey Kazinda is being grilled at Criminal Intelligence Directorate office headquarters over the loss of sh5b.

Kazinda is facing charges of abuse of office abuse of office, causing financial loss, embezzlement, false accounting and forgery.

The interrogation was interrupted when Kazinda was asked to produce certain documents crucial to police investigations.

Kazinda was later escorted to a waiting vehicle in which two ladies were seated. He locked himself in the vehicle and rummaged through certain documents while his escort waited outside the car.

He later emerged with a box file and they marched back to the office for further grilling.

The documents the detectives wanted concerned the Karamoja regional meeting on empowerment and development, several activities in Northern Uganda in which sh5b is suspected to have vanished under Kazinda’s watch.
