Two policemen of the Inspector General of Police security detail have perished in a fatal accident in Kabale district.

Lt. Gen Kale Kayihura’s security detail advance team was heading to Kisoro in south-western Uganda.

The fatal accident occurred at Kanaba gap along Kabale-Kisoro Road on Friday morning after the driver failed to negotiate a corner. The two occupants driving a Super Custom registration number UAQ 190G.

South Western Regional Police Commander Olivia Wawire identified one of the dead as Assistant Superintendent of Police Alex Nuwagaba. Another is yet to be identified.
