MPs have condemned the anti-Islam film entitled: The Innocence of muslims saying, it has polarised the global Islam community.

The 14-minute video, which is said to have been produced in the United States, depicts Islam as a religion of violence and hate, and Prophet Muhammad as a foolish and power-hungry man.

Speaking on behalf the Muslim parliamentary community at Parliament yesterday, Imam Latif Sebaggala said Muslims all over the world have lived in harmony with people of various religions.

“We believe in all prophets, including Prophet Isa (Jesus Christ). The difference in belief has never been a source of acrimony between Muslims and other people,” Sebaggala said.

The MPs urged the Government to ensure that freedom of worship is enjoyed by all Ugandans and to restrain anybody who provokes another by way of hate and undermining their belief.
