A bleeding Mwejukye was in pain as Besigye tried to comfort him.

Besigye took cover amisdst the smoke of teargas and his supporter's scappered for their lives.

"I don't want anyone here. Please can you leave this place," Acaye said while calling his troops to fire teargas at the crowds.

During the scuffle Turinawe was sprayed with pepper spray in her eyes and her car's windscreen was smashed.

The heavily armed anti-riot police dispersed the crowds who had turned up for the Activists for change (A4C) rally.

The Katwe DPC Ecega said he received a letter signed by the Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander Andrew Kaweesi not to permit A4c access the ground.

"This is a market area which is near the road which many dignitaries use to the airport so the puts security at a risk meaning the rally will not take place here," Ecega said.

He added that the rally would hinder people from transacting business since the ground is located in the market.
He however said that the activists would use the Luwafu play ground that was two kilometers away from the katwe
    grounds.
