Police in the western district of Kanungu are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 62-year-old man who was Monday morning found dead in his coffee store.

Elly Maate, the south-south western Uganda police spokesperson identified the deceased as John Kamugisha, a resident of Rwere cell, Nyarutojo Parish, Kambuga Sub County in Kanungu district.

Maate said that they suspect that the deceased was murdered by unknown people. The spokesperson told New Vision that the deceased was a prominent coffee dealer in Kanungu but has not been on good terms with his wife and the children as well.

Police arrested Geoffrey Mutagamba in connection with the murder.
