Dear Counsellor,

I am in love with a man who is my mum’s good friend. Our relationship started when he used to come to our home to visit my mother. 

 I had completed my Senior Four at the time and he offered to take me to a vocational institution because I could not afford fees for A’level. Well, he got me the institution and is paying my tuition and hostel fees as well.

However, along the way, we developed feelings for each other and got into a relationship behind my mum’s back. As fate would have it, I became pregnant and for the last eight months, I have not returned home nor have I got the courage to break the news of my pregnancy to my mum.

My mum keeps asking why I do not return home, but I always give her excuses. Should I tell my mother about the baby and who his father is?
