NELLY Mayanja hopes to lift his new club Kiyovu SC (Rwanda) against Tanzanian giants Simba SC at the Orange Confederation Cup in Kigali starting on February 17.

Kiyovu handed in their final list of players who will compete in the Confederation Cup to Federation of Rwanda Football Associations (FERWAFA) with Ugandans Mayanja, Ibrahim Jingo (Express), Shamiru Batte (Entebbe Young) on.

The midfielder (Mayanja)  joined Kiyovu from SC Villa at the beginning on this season has so far helped his club hold on in the third position in the Rwanda national league.

Mayanja is one of the five players Kiyovu reinforced with ahead of their campaign in Confederation Cup.

Commented on the signings, Kiyovu head coach Jean Baptiste Kayiranga said: “we have started preparations by reinforcing the squad. I have recruited three Ugandan and two local-based players.”
