The UPDF and Police marines have recovered the body of Thomas Svith, 21 of the two Danes who have been missing for a week after drowning in Lake Bunyonyi.
The body was recovered at around 11 am on Friday and is to be transported to the main national Referral Hospital, Mulago in the capital Kampala for a postmortem.
Sebastian Burtin, 20, went missing with his friend, Thomas Svith, 21, last week on Wednesday under unclear circumstances at a lodge near Lake Bunyonyi in western Uganda.
The search team was led by UPDF Marines Commander, Col. Michael Nyarwa.
Thomas Svith, 21, and Sebastian Burtin, 20, from the Aarhus suburb of Åbyhøj, were volunteers at a primary school in the Kenyan city of Kinsii and on holiday in Uganda.
Police and armed forces began searching Lake Bunyonyi in southwestern Uganda last week on Thursday (December 1) after reports from locals that the two had drowned the day before.
