The new case is a 38-year-old male truck driver who arrived in the country from Kenya via Malaba on April 12.

The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country now stands at 55.

In a press statement, the ministry said the new patient didn't have any signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19. "He was tested at Malaba border point as part of our routine test for truck drivers," the statement reads.

The health ministry, also revealed that a male Kenyan truck driver aged 27 was found positive among the truck drivers tested. According to the ministry, arrangements to return him to Kenya for treatment are being made.
