10 schools in South Western Uganda receive books.

They will be used as materials during the training of pupils on the water resources management and proper sanitation.

A total of 10 schools in South Western region have received 3000 books on water resources management and proper sanitation.

The books are to be read by the pupils to enhance their knowledge on water resources management.

 

"The books include; The Rainforest, Puff the man-made cloud, Mount Refuse, The great African sea and a Reader's Guide authored by Margaret Mukuru.  They will be used as materials during the training of pupils on the water resources management and proper sanitation. As part of the project, school clubs known as 'Friends of Water' were created," the executive director Uganda Water and Sanitation Network (UWASNET), Doreen Kabasindi said.

 

The project ‘Enhancing knowledge of the water resource and proper sanitation among school children in South Western Uganda" under which the books have been procured is done in partnership with Austria Development Cooperation Agency for Cooperation, (UWASNET),Research in Development (ACORD) with Support from the Ministry of  Water and Environment

The project aims at strengthening partnerships for sustainable use of water resources in the Victoria Management Water Zones by bringing primary schools on board.
