Former Kumi county Member of Parliament, Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat and Kawempe South legislator, Mubarak Munyagwa were Tuesday nominated at the Forum for Democratic Change party offices to bring the number of contestants for the presidency to five.
Unlike Oboi who was accompanied by chanting supporters and top party officials, Munyagwa arrived with two people in his official car.
Oboi was lifted high by supporters and walked out of the party headquarters, singing and dancing to the band music and kadodi drummers towards Entebbe Road.
The police had a rough time trying to stop the supporters from interrupting the traffic flow but were overwhelmed by the crowd and instead accompanied them up to Katwe after making a U-turn at Stella-Najjanankumbi.
Munyagwa said he was not interested in crowds but promised he would put up a robust campaign. He was later joined by his wife, Joweria Nagujja.
