Football stakeholders mourn Nikaroni Apitta

He died from a suspected heart failure at his home in Boroboro, Lira

 

Football stakeholders are mourning the death of Nikaroni Apitta.

The Apitta who was also the father of commissioner for sports in the Education and Sports Ministry, Lamex Omara Apitta, passed away on Tuesday last week.

Apitta died from a suspected heart failure at his home in Boroboro, Lira. He was also the founder of Boroboro Tigers FC, a club that went on to represent Lango region in the Super Mini League before they joined the topflight in 2007.

FUFA president Moses Magogo was one of the stakeholders that sent condolences.

"We all know the value of the old man towards the development of football in the northern region. The country has lost a dedicated servant of the beautiful game. Our Condolences go out to the Commissioner of Sports in the Ministry of Education and Sports Mr. Lamex Omara Apitta on the loss of his father mzee Nikaroni Apitta. We pray that the Almighty keeps your family, relatives and friends strong during these trying times," stated Magogo.

Burial will be held on next Saturday in Aromo Sub Country.​
