Nakabazzi said they will soon unveil a team jersey for the new season

DStv has reaffirmed it continued partnership as sponsors of Express FC as the countdown to the 2017/2018 season gets underway.

Addressing a press conference at MultiChoice offices on Friday, Phoebe Nakabazzi, Marketing Manager DStv Uganda, said they were still committed to seeing the team blossom following their sponsorship announcement last October.

"We still have an active, running contract with Express FC and these first few months of the sponsorship have yielded so much fruit and opportunity for us as a brand. We are excited to continue on this journey with Express FC in boosting the team's performance in the league," she said.

Nakabazzi said they will soon unveil a team jersey for the new season promising even more cash for the team following a request from the club.

"The continuation and reiteration that we are still one with Express is important to us to solidify our confidence in Express as a team,"Nakabazzi added.

In her speech, chairperson Nakiwala Kiyingi thanked DStv for the sponsorship but asked for more cash from the partnership.

"In their history, Express has never had a relationship like they have with DStv, they are the number one football fans and their sponsorship has given birth to their chairman becoming the first FUFA vice chairperson. We appreciate all you have done for us but we need more money," Nakiwala said.

She later presented a certificate of appreciation to MultiChoice Marketing Manager Phoebe Nakabazzi saying the team had enjoyed a cordial relationship with DStv.

She said Express players will now sign a minimum of two-year contracts before listing some of the achievements for her executive.

"We have set up structures within Express FC, have fully branded offices, a formidable team that led us through the Azam league and we have contracted Sports Agency DexSpo to market Express and ensure we achieve our objectives," Nakiwala stated.

According to Express CEO, Ivan Kintu Express has so far worked on the contracts of 17 out of the intended 28 for the new season.
